I could get used to this!

Another day in the "office". Please don't hate! :-)

Morning Walk- I could get used to this!

What a beautiful morning for a walk! I can't believe it is my third sunrise here, but its the first time I actually got out of the condo and down to the beach (I did hit up the pool for a bit yesterday though)!! Definitely going to make that part of my routine for the remainder of my stay here- especially since I have been waking up right before sunrise WITHOUT an alarm clock (amazing what a little sunshine and a change of attitude- a little refresher can do for one's soul. . . back home I had to Drag myself out of bed after my alarms were going off for over two hours. .. ask Jackie). Weather channel said it is only 57 degrees out, but with the sun and a power- walk , I was actually pretty hot and needed to roll up my sleeves. Picked up a few shells along the way, but opted for tennis shoes and a power-walk this morning rather than a leisurely one. I think I might just have to take another 45 minute walk before sunset. . . now time to get in a little work.

On to Boca Raton

Truck I was following on the way to Boca- was wishing I had Go-Go Gadgets arms so I could snatch up an arm full of the Florida Grapefruits. . . I loooooove grapefruit!!!

Heaven. Got to Boca on Sunday in time to run to the grocery store and watch the big game. Enjoying the sound of the ocean and the beautiful sunrises. Didn't leave the condo at all yesterday, but enjoyed working from the balcony a bit. Think I'll get out for a bit today and go for a walk on the Beach. Think I'll get on the sewing machine tonight.

Daytona

I had an AMAZING time in Daytona with Jamie and all of her friends. GREAT group of people that I can say I am soooo happy to have met! It was nice to see Jamie's dad and Trish on Friday- eat pizza and visit. Saturday was fun day!!! Jamie's boyfriend Mitch got us VIP tickets for the Budweiser Shoot-Out races and the Zac Brown Band at Daytona International Speedway!!! Wahooo!!! Infield!!! What a great time. . . . and "You Know I like My Chicken Fried"!!

Thank you Jamie, Mitch, Rob, Soran, Erin and everyone else (including Rocky) for being so completely awesome and nice to me- I had a blast!!! Maybe next time I'll get to fly! (if I don't chicken out)- Hahaha :-)

One Week In. . . .

Aahhhhhh. Savannah!!! Love that city!!! So much of the downtown has changed, grown and got cleaned up.. . Beautiful. First night in town Kristian took me to a fine dining restaurant 45 Bistro at the Marshall House on Broughton. AMAZING food. We split everything and I let him pick our meal. . . a bunch of firsts for me: Carpaccio Appetizzer (thinly sliced raw beef) with a light sauce, balsamic and basil atop, a Grilled Caesar salad and Veal shank with mashed root vegetables for our main course, followed by one of the most amazing desserts I have ever had- and that says a lot!. Everything was great and I was pretty proud of myself for trying them all. We then met up with Amy, Christian, Whitney at Cirque- a small, old and beautifully crafted bar- and soon to be restaurant.

Wednesday night Amy, Christian and I went to. . . drumroll please. .. . JUAREZ!!! Oh heaven! Margaritas, salsa - and thats really all I have to say about that. We then went to the new rooftop bar on Bay St. / River St. on the top of the 9 story new Hotel called The Bohemian. . . This place was amazing the outside was made with all brick to fit in with Savannah's atmosphere. The interior was the perfect combination of modern with nature. Chandeliers made of of oyster shells, drift wood, hand crafted kayaks, beautiful artwork. The roof top bar had glass garage doors that all open to a balcony that wraps around the whole outside and over looks downtown Savannah and River St. After the rooftop bar we headed over to Smiles, to meet up with Whitney and Aaron and watch a little bit of the dueling pianos. It was a great night.

Yesterday woke up and went for a walk downtown and lunch at Olympia Cafe with Amy and Michelle. . . Yum. A little walk along River St. A stop into Savannah's Candy Kitchen to grab some delicious PRALINES, and I was on my way to Ormond Beach Florida.

All though I was sad to leave Savannah I was excited to see Jamie! Aaaah Florida- 73 and Sunny!! Last night Jamie, her boyfriend Mitch, Rob , Soran and I went to the Ocean Deck Bar, Directly on the Daytona Beach. . . . I just had to do it!- Cartwheel on the beach with the entire bar watching!

Today we had a great lunch at Caffeine in Holly Hill, and then came back to Mitch's place to do some work. Although it just started raining- it is about 75 and most importantly- NOT Snowing!!! Not too happy about the Tornado warning, but the storms ar emoving pretty fast and will be long gone by tomorrow when we are going to see the Zac Brown Band- VIP tickets at Daytona Speedway! Wahooo. .. . I definitely think I will have this perma- grin for the ENTIRE month!

The Month Long Journey Has begun- Day Four

Monday February 1, 2010 I sit in Charleston South Carolina with my laptop ready to get to work. My little trip to cure my winter blues began on Friday morning. One last walk in arctic temps with my baby Cody Mon(ster) and I was off! Wahoo! First stop- Lexington Kentucky to see my old college buddy George.

Lexington was a great time. We went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner with George's cousin and his cousin's wife. This is where the fun begins. They thought it would be funny to have the servers sing happy birthday to me- because they won't get to spend my 30th with me (which isn't until end of March). Group of clapping singing servers surround the table. Throw a ginormous sombrero on head and continue to make a scene. Song is over. They tilt my head back and give me a tequila shot. Then another server comes up with ice cream for dessert, goes to give me a bite and smothers my face with whip cream! Everywhere!! Haha! I definitely didn't see that coming! The night concluded with very animated Karaoke sang by George's roomate (and incredible artist) Kevin, and Dance Party U.S.A. in their living room after we left the Karaoke Bar.

Saturday We went to George's Family's cabin in The Daniel Boone National Forest. Beautiful. But VERY COLD. Sat by a warm fire and shot the breeze.

Yesterday I woke up and hit the road! Slight detour, an hour north out of my way due to rock slides in North Carolina, but I made it to Charleston, SC just about 7:30pm. Caught up with a little bit of the grammy's while entering time for work. And then Sarah took me to her work and then out to Folley Beach where we went to Blue and then the Surf Bar ( VERY COOL little place with a great folky band playing). Can't wait to check everything out a little later today- I hear Charleston is Savannah's sister city, and we all know how dearly I LOVE SAVANNAH!
